This collective work of Tim Burton and The Killers is one of the most cutest video I've ever seen.
As u can see, the main character is the middle between Edward ScissorHands and probably the hero of Frankenweenie. The effect of the unreal boy is provided by eyes, which can't blink, and the inflexible knees. That boy is more than a human, he's a dreamer. And his dream is the world which can be more happier, than the real one.
On the other side we have a girl and she's not into the gothic fairytale, she is real. And, of course, they can't be a couple, they live in parallel universes, their lifes have no contact points. But the director try to show us happy end not in the main concept, but in the emotional spirit of the film.
Burton is on his way: many gorgeous scenes like dance inside theatre, his favourite striped alley, the picturesque view of the sea (the same u can find in "Sweeny Todd") and so on.
Moreover, Brandon and the band are the part of the show. They don't loose their own rock style, but can be harmonically picked into the scene as the basic element.
